About Me

Since this blog contains tidbits from the pieces of my life, it’s only fitting that I provide a few small bits about me for your information bank:

  • My name, for the purposes of this blog, is Bitsy Pieces.
  • I was born in 1974.
  • My husband is my best friend.
  • I am, at times, a bit of a shrew.
  • I love Italian food, sushi and sandwiches.
  • Wine is my drug of choice.
  • I like people who are funny and people who are smart, but I really like funny-smart people.
  • I am a control freak and slightly OCD.
  • Liberals label me a right-wing redneck, and Conservatives call me a tree-hugging hippie. My true self is somewhere in-between.
  • I hate germs, but understand they play a necessary role in the survival of life on earth.
  • I prefer solitary fitness activities, like running and swimming.
  • Watching movies on DVD is my favorite way to relax.
  • You wouldn’t guess it by looking at me, but I love to play video games with Hubby.

    Hi there,

I’m interested in adding a text link from bitsofpieces.wordpress.com to my life insurance site.

Could you please let me know your prices?

    Thanks very much,

    Jake

  2. Greetings,

We hope you don’t mind us contacting your through your blog, so thank you for taking the time to read this! We are trying to get in touch with mother-related communities in some meaningful way.

We are two advanced doctoral students in New York who specialize in the unique experiences of mothers for our dissertations. Essentially with your help, we are hoping to reach a large audience of diverse mothers-to-be to aide in our understanding of issues important to women from a broad array of backgrounds, so that multiple perspectives are heard.

We have a website set up with a link to our study survey. Is this something that might be appropriate to mention/post to your members? We have placed a copy of our typical “blurb” below for your consideration. We can also send a pdf copy of a flyer to physically post on a bulletin board.

Of course, we are happy to answer any questions you may have. We are IRB approved by our university and meet the highest standards of practice.

    Thank you again,

    Hi Everyone,

We are two doctoral students researching the effects of pregnancy and motherhood on the lives of women for our dissertations. With your much needed help, we would like to learn more about the process of becoming a mother and how it may inform a woman’s identity, relationships, spirituality, mental health, and general well-being from a diverse array of women. We are IRB approved by our university.

Our online survey is easy to take and will take only 30-60min of your time now and again after you give birth. Most of all, we hope it serves as an opportunity for you to reflect on your experience and guide others in their path.

If you are pregnant and in your 2nd or 3rd trimester, please consider participating.
