I am assuming you will be having another baby shower (maybe not) but as you said if people start to ask what can they buy for the baby you can just send them to your registry. I agree with all your points on why to register but one thing you didn't mention is that it usually eliminates getting doubles and having the trouble of returning stuff. We will probably register at Babies R Us ( I actually already started one online without my hubby ~ just for fun) and maybe we will do one at one of the larger departmant stores too?!
